Gosport Borough Council (GBC) created its own local pay agreement in 2005. Long Service Policy pdf icon PDF 71 KB

The council’s Long Service Awards Policy recognises staff who are made redundant or retire with 20 or more years’ service.  Staff receive an engraved medallion and a gift of their choice to the value of £15 for each completed year of service.  The policy needs to be reviewed due to the fact that these awards do not meet the HM Revenue and Customs criteria for exemption from a tax charge.
