Election of Honorary Freeman In accordance with Section 249 of the Local Government Act, 1972, and should recommendation to Council be approved at the Policy and Organisation Board on Tuesday 5th February, the Council is required to approve the following recommendation:-
“That this Council, in pursuance of their powers under Section 249 (5) of the Local Government Act, 1972, do hereby confer on Mr Peter Robin Edgar MBE, the Honorary Freedom of the Borough of Gosport in recognition of his eminent services to the people and Borough of Gosport over many years.”
Minutes: COUNCIL UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED: That, in accordance with Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972,the Rights, Titles, Privileges, Honours and Distinctions granted by the Borough to Peter Edgar MBE in recognition of his eminent services to the people and Borough of Gosport over many years.
