To receive apologies from Members for their inability to attend the Meeting Minutes: Apologies for non attendance were received from Councillors Foster-Reed and Hammond and Honorary Alderman Kimber. |

Election of Honorary Alderman In accordance with Section 249 of the Local Government Act, 1972, the Council is required to approve the following recommendation:-
“That, in accordance with Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, and in recognition of the eminent service rendered on behalf of the Borough, Mr Richard James Dickson be elected Honorary Alderman of the Borough of Gosport.”
Minutes: It was requested that under Standing Order 4.12.4 a recorded vote be taken.
Voting was thereupon taken and the names of the Members voting for and against the recommendation and those abstaining was read to the Council
FOR THE RECOMMENDATIONS: The Mayor and Councillors Ms Ballard, Bateman, Mrs Batty, Beavis, Rev Blackman, Burgess, Carter, Chegwyn, Mrs Cully, Dickson, Earle, Farr, Herridge, Hicks, Mrs Hook, Hook, Mrs Hutchison, Huggins, Hylands, Jessop, Johnston, Mrs Jones, Miss Kelly, Murphy, Mrs Morgan, Pepper, Philpott, Mrs Prickett, Raffaelli, Scard, Mrs Westerby (32)

ABSTENTIONS: (0)
COUNCIL UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED: That, in accordance with Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972, and in recognition of the eminent service rendered on behalf of the Borough, Mr Richard James Dickson be elected Honorary Alderman of the Borough of Gosport.
