(NOTE: The Board is required to receive a deputation(s) on a matter which is before the meeting of the Board provided that notice of the intended deputation and its object shall have been received by the Borough Solicitor by 12 noon on Thursday 11 October 2018.  The total time for deputations in favour and against a proposal shall not exceed 10 minutes).

To report to the Policy and Organisation Board and recommend to Full Council the decision of the panel. 

Consideration was given to the report of the Chief Executive reporting to the Policy and Organisation Board and recommending to Full Council the decision of the Honorary Alderman panel. 

RESOLVED: That it be recommended to Council that any future Honorary Alderman be approved in line with the following criteria.

a) those that have given eminent service to the Council, the Borough and the Community; and that

b) Prior to any proposal for the award of Honorary Alderman being presented to the Council, by way of consultation with the Group Leaders, cross party support for the nomination and proposal should be sought and given.
